This is a family I worked with a few weeks ago. I had such a good time with this little girl. It took her awhile to warm up, but by the end of the session, she was running around and having a ton of fun! Thank goodness the weather held out for us and our location kept us away from the wind for the most part. I LOVE this location!

Here are a few shots from a session I did a couple weeks ago. What a beautiful night it turned out to be. During our 2 hour shoot we had all different kinds of weather. We started out with an overcast sky, then came some winds, then the rain, then out came the sun for the end of the shoot. We had some good laughs and some great shots!

Well, I am back. I didn't realize how long it has been since I did a post. We had an addition to our family last December and life has been busy! I have still been doing photo sessions, I just haven't been able to find time to post about them. But I think it is about time for me to get back to it, so wish me luck!! I will be showing photo sessions I am working on now as well as ones I have done in the past.

So on to today's post...

These are friends of mine, and I really enjoyed spending time with them and working with their adorable little family. I have to say... we didn't pick the easiest day. We were battling the heat... and when I say heat... I mean HEAT!!!. We were limited with the days we could do the shoot and luckily for us, the day we chose just happened to be one of the hottest days of the summer. YEAH!! SO, we battled the heat, but I think we came out on top. Look at some of the cute pictures we were able to get.

The "D" Family

This is one of my last shoots of the year and I really enjoyed it! We got rained out the night before we ended up doing them... we had a limited time we could schedule these pictures and we were so worried we wouldn't be able to fit them in. I haven't posted in awhile... sorry I have been MIA.

It is that time of year when the leaves are starting to change colors and the temperature is dropping. I LOVE it! And it is a perfect time of year for pictures. It is definitely a busy time of year, but I am loving getting to work with all my great clients. I am almost completely booked for this year... so if you are still wanting to book a session, give me a jingle asap!

I have always enjoyed my newborn shoots. Actually, I think they are my favorite shoots of all. They can be challenging at times, but not with this little man. He was the most easy going baby I have worked with. He let me move him around, change his clothes, and bend and twist him without a peep. What a sweet little angel! I just wanted to snuggle with him all day... and with all that dark hair... what a handsome little baby! This wonderful family was a joy to work with and I enjoyed every minute! And isn't the proud big brother just adorable. I always have a hard time picking which ones to post... but I finally narrowed it down. Here are a few of my favorites.

You might recognize this little guy and his family from some of my past shoots. I always love photographing this family! They are always up for anything and are one of the most easy going families. A lot of times when my clients can relax and enjoy the shoot, it shows in the photos and true smiles shine through. Thanks R family for a wonderful shoot. They showed up and it was snowing... yep snowing in May, this was in Utah of course... but still SNOW?! From Baby to Big Girl

I have worked with this little gal since she was 3 months old. She is such a sweet, adorable girl and I have really enjoyed seeing her grow up. I can't believe how quickly it happens. During our shoot she did not want to stop. She was just having fun running around and having us chase her. I am glad that she stopped a few times to show me a big smile. She has such a big personality and I LOVED working with her and her wonderful family again.

Senior Pictures

I love working with seniors. They are in such a fun time in life and have so much going for them. For me as a photographer, the most important thing with seniors is to make sure their personalities come through. I want to make sure each image is a reflection of each individual and I want them to enjoy their shoot.

With Miss J, I think we did that. Despite the rescheduling for weather, she was ready to go with a great attitude. It took me awhile to get her out of her shell, but once I did she was a posing machine and let her true smiles come through. Thanks Miss J for a fabulous day!!

I love red hair! Maybe because I have a handsome red headed husband... or maybe it is because of the Irish in me. Either way, I was so excited to get a chance to work with this little red headed baby. She is just too adorable. It took her a while to warm up, but once she did, she was hammin' it up. While I was back in Utah I was able to get together with one of my best friends. Now that I have moved away I don't get to talk to her or hang out with her near as much as I would like to. She has two of the most adorable girls. This is the first time I was able to meet her little one. I have definitely been MIA the last few weeks. My little one and I have been doing some traveling. We have really enjoyed it. It has taken me a few weeks to get back to work and catch up on all the shoots I have done. I was able to do a few shoots in Utah and see so many great friends that I haven't seen for awhile. I'm glad I got a chance to work with so many wonderful families.

I was so excited to work with this first family. I met them back when I lived in Georgia. We did our first shoot together about 2 1/2 years ago... and I just fell in love with their little ones. When they contacted me again, I was SO excited to work with them. It was great to reconnect and see how their family has grown. We had a wild night to takes pictures(wind/dust storm), but we had a great time anyways. I have to mention that Lucia (mom) had a bun in the oven and was due in a few weeks. What a trooper!! I really enjoy senior pictures. I loved working with this gal and catching her awesome personality! Her smile is contagious and I simply enjoyed spending time with her. I have to say she was so easy going. She completely trusted me and let me take any shot I wanted. This is a photographer's dream. She even let me have input on her styling. It felt like a girls night out... it was so fun, I didn't even feel like I was working. Thanks Miss T for a great shoot!! I think we got some amazing shots.

This last week I had the chance to meet the "I" Family. They were visiting from Texas and I was glad I was able to get together with them before they left. When we met up for the shoot we had no idea we were dealing with freezing cold temps. I thought I was going to freeze... I sure felt bad for them, they were definitely not used to these temps. Even though it was cold, we had a great day. Thanks you guys for toughing out the cold... you are troopers! Does this location look familiar? It is has been a hot one this year. Everyone is loving the Urban look.

The "S" Family

Here is a family that I have worked with a few times. The 3 boys are so handsome and they each have such a different personality. I really enjoyed working with them. Mom did a great job coordinating everyone and I thought the color choices were so great with the location we chose. These boys didn't always want to cooperate... but boys will be boys and we got some great shots! Here are a few of my favorites.

This last one I just had to throw in. This little guy was having a hard time so we had walked away from the rest of the family to play a bit (to see if I could get some fun shots) when we were all done I sent him to go get the rest of his family. I snapped this shot as he was walking away. It was funny watching him try to figure out where his shadow had come from.

I hope everyone one had a great Holiday Season! I know I really enjoyed it this year, but I can't believe how fast it went by. It seems like the end of this year just went by WAY too fast. I was looking through all the family pictures I did before Christmas and decided to share a few images from a shoot I did awhile back. I had such a good time with this family. The kids were in great moods and the parents were laid back. Sometimes it is hard to enjoy getting pictures taken... but this family really did. They were laughing and playing which equals great pictures. It was hard to pick some from the shoot, but here are a few cute ones.

This weekend I had the chance to do a newborn shoot. I love working with newborns. They are so precious and just too fun to hold. This little gal was really alert. She put up a good fight and wouldn't fall asleep for us. She is a tough cookie too, she would dig her legs in underneath her and it looked like she was trying to crawl. Her brother and sister just love her so much and they wanted to watch while we "made pictures" (so cute) of their little sister. Here are a few shots from the shoot.

Christmas Mini Sessions

Okay, Everyone. The temps are dropping, the leaves are turning (well, almost anyway) and tail-gaiting is rampant. You know what that means... 'Tis the season for some Christmas mini sessions! Woohoo! Here are the details...

Date: Saturday, Oct. 24
Time: Morning to early afternoon - contact me for available times (alyson at alysonshulzphotography dot com)
Place: The Railroad Building/The Winston Eatery - 300 S Liberty St, Winston-Salem (Next to the Children's Museum)
Cost: $75

Each mini session will last about 20 minutes. You will receive approximately 10 proofed images to choose from, 25 Christmas cards, and the option to purchase additional cards (which come in sets of 25) and prints a la carte. Space is limited, so be sure to book your session ASAP. Session fee is due at booking to reserve your spot.

I've got a really fun line up of cards this year. There are ten awesomely unique cards to choose from. I've got five 5x7 two-sided flat options and five 5x7 folded options. Here are a few examples...

Wow this summer has been so busy. I have been doing a lot of shoots. I am going to try and play catch up the next couple of days and show you what I have been working on. First off is Ms. Ava. Ava does interior redesigns. She has her own business, ReDesigns by Ava. She is so much fun to work with and also has great ideas for houses. I have worked with her in the past and was so excited to work with her again. This time she asked me to do a family shoot with her mother, her daughter, and her two grandsons. We had a lot of fun and it was a good workout for me :) Here is a great shot of Ava.

He is my cousin's little boy and I was lucky enough to get to spend a whole week with him and his mom. We had a lot of fun doing this shoot. Even though we had a run-in with some mosquitos, we were able to get some great shots.

Check out this adorable baby. Miss A was just under 2 weeks when we took these pictures. She was one of the most alert newborns I have seen. Her mother and I had a lot of fun taking these pictures.
